I'm having technical difficulties—the bunny-chewed-through-the-internet-cable variety of setbacks—and it's forcing me against my will to pause and reflect.
Way back in the ‘90s, I would joke with my friends that I was hyper electro-charged cause technology, computers in particular, were always crashing around me. Yes, I was flighty, so I attributed many of the tech fails to my being disorganized (which I wasn’t really) or just distracted (which I always was/am). It was a reasonable assumption.
At the turn of the century, I worked a short stint as an operations manager at a substance abuse treatment facility where one of my closest friends was the IT manager. After about six months, I shared the observation with my friend. And she said, "I know. It’s crazy. I don’t know how you do it."
Sweet validation!
Yesterday, Bonnie, our bunny, chewed through the internet cable. Again.
I managed to corrupt my off-brand alternative writing software when I uninstalled apps from my old laptop to free up space and increase processing speed.
Where is my new laptop, you ask? Getting repaired because the battery fried one day in June. I'm still waiting to get it back.
That's not all.
Early in August, I scheduled my social media for the month, both mine and Passionate Ink's, since I do their social media. Monday, I noticed none of the content posted to the socials.
Some of these fails can be attributed to ADD. Others could be due to simple burnout. After all I’ve learned, I still believe that my electric personality makes me a walking EMP bomb.
I'm co-hosting a team-building for writers panel tonight. Will I have adequate internet or won't I?
Who can say? Who can say?
